SOLUM has secured a Proof of Concept (PoC) project for EV charging infrastructure with Qatar’s public authority, marking an important step in expanding its presence in the Middle East.
💡AI Summary
The project was delivered in collaboration with EV charger manufacturer CHAEVI, deploying a 180kW fast charger equipped with SOLUM’s high-efficiency 30kW power module. The charger is scheduled to arrive in Qatar in early July, where on-site validation will begin.
This marks a meaningful milestone, as it is recognized as the first participation of a Korean EV charging-related company in a public-sector PoC led by Qatar’s authority.
Through this project, SOLUM aims to validate the performance and durability of its power modules under the region’s demanding environmental conditions, including extreme heat and dust exposure.
With strong local support from VIM Automotive, a key partner with extensive networks across public and private sectors, SOLUM is strengthening its access to infrastructure projects in Qatar.
Qatar is actively expanding its EV infrastructure under its National Vision 2030, targeting full electrification of public transportation buses and scaling its public charging network.
Building on this PoC, SOLUM plans to expand its EV charging solutions business across the GCC region, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait.
